Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, Trevi Fountain

If you  can't see, the Pope is right above the "e" in in the first Pope of my text. Awesome right? I need a bigger lens...

So I definitely had an eventful last couple of days. On Wednesday I saw the last Papal Audience of Pope Benedict XVI. As of last night at 8pm he officially stepped down as Pope. I was interviewed twice at that audience!! Once by BBC & once by Rome Reports.com. On Thursday, I went to St. Peter's Basilica for class. It was so beautiful and huge! I didn't know it would be as big as it was! I saw the beautiful Pieta (Mother Mary with Jesus' corpse on her lap). It was so beautiful but I wish you could go closer. However it is behind a huge sheet of acrylic glass since it was attacked by some crazy nut job. I also rubbed the foot of St. Peter (the statue). That was actually emotional for me, I kind of had tears in my eyes. I know it was because it was a nice moment close to God and even my recently deceased Grandfather who went with my Grandma in the 70's and had rubbed the same foot. I got my friend to take a picture for my Grandma, but I seem kind of shocked or something in the picture.... It was a nice moment though and a great experience to have. I then had an Italian midterm and after decided to go to the Trevi Fountain to relax. It is so beautiful and I had my friend snap a (very close up :/ ) picture of me. But this way, you get to see my Thursday outfit! My new Zara scarf & cardigan, paired with a white tee and black jeans!
