Giorno Due

Bella Roma! Another great day in the beautiful city of Rome. Now that (I feel like) I've seen it all, or according to my Rick Steve's book, I took some time to take my mother to some places familiar and new. First off we traveled down to Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the four major basilicas in Rome. Having seen all four, I think Santa Maria is very special, but I cannot chose a favorite! We spent some time in the church, and even visited the archeological site underneath- though the tour guide was very awkward and rushed through. After this, we headed to Villa Borghese. My mother is the type who likes to walk around, well sort of walk around, and gardens seem like a hit for her. We spent some time in the park, ate gelato and then headed back home. Not too crazy of a day, but relaxing enough before our trip to Firenze and Venezia.

These lemons are about the size of a toddler's head.

I don't know what this place was, I wandered in and took a couple photos. It is located towards the end of Via del Corso

Such a good day, we had plenty of water and gelato and attempted to stay in the shade as long as possible in order to avoid the crazy summer heat! Stay tuned (later today) for the Firenze update!!
